Dave started his Landscape career as a Landscape Contractor, designing and building gardens for 10 years. After building a successful business, designing and building several award winning gardens, he was offered a position at Mee Industries, as the Designer and Project Manager for special effects.
Here he worked on a variety of projects designing visual water & fog effects for amusements parks, zoos, & aquariums and other venues. These included Disneyland, Universal Studios, Paramount Theme Parks, Rainforest Café Restaurants, Detroit Zoo, LA Zoo, Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago, Bellagio Hotel, Las Vegas, and others.
To the right is a photo of a project for the 2002 Swiss Expo where Dave helped design and manage the installation of the largest water fog effect ever built.
Dave returned to doing what he loves most, designing and building gardens. Currently, Dave is the principal Landscape Designer for his firm Sola Designs, where he designs and installs gardens in the Los Angeles area. Lately, He has participated in the Pasadena Showcase House of Design in 2004 (Backyard Stream & Courtyard) and for 2005 (Motor Court and Entry Garden).
Dave is currently enrolled in the UCLA Landscape Architect Extension program, and is studying for his Landscape Architect License. |
